Deleting Comments is easy. To delete a comment, first make sure that you are logged in. Then go to the blog and find the page where the comment is listed. Next to the comment, you should see a trash can icon. Clicking the "Delete Comment" button will remove the text of the comment from your page, but leave the author's name and a message saying "this comment has been removed." If you check the "Remove Forever" option, then no trace of the comment will remain on your blog.
As far as making your blog spam-proof, I am not sure how to do this with Blogger software. I use WordPress which allows for plugins to be installed to get rid of spam, so it is different than Blogger.com. If spam really starts to become a problem, you can change your comment settings to that only registered Blogger users can comment. However, this is an inconvenience to end-users cause then they have to have a blogger account to comment on your blog. Doing that would probably discourage commenting for that reason, so I would only do it if spam starts to become an issue where you are having to delete a lot of it.
