Addicted
well as you know i have been suffering from the ailment called empty nest syndrome but i found something that helps me take my mind off of it and that is riding my motorcycle! we ride every day we can. ken rides his to and from work everyday. i ride and meet him after his work and we ride home together. i really enjoy riding on nice days and hope there will be alot of nice days left yet this year. i also think ken and I have become "addicted" as we only had our bikes for about a month and saturday we "upgraded" that is we have gotten bigger bikes! he went from a 550 kawasaki to a 750 kawasaki, and i went from a little honda 200 to a 500 kawasaki. we didn't intend to get bigger bikes it just sorta happened. OK, we went to cheyenne for our usual sams grocery shopping. as i was wanting to get a different face shield for my helmet we thought we would stop in at a motorcycle dealer. but as we were there ken just casually asked if they had any used cycles in and they said yes, we have these two here. a man and wife had traded them in recently for 4 wheelers. they were such NICE LOOKING BIKES matching his and hers bikes and we just couldnt help ourselves! we had to check into this further! so we test rode them. first ken test rode them both as i was too intimidated by the size of them to try at first but ken convinced me that i could do it so i did try out the 500 kawasaki and it rode sooo nice! i couldn't believe i actually could ride it! they are like new! the 500 had only 689 miles on it and it is a 1996. the 750 had only 1490 miles and is a 1994. they offered us such a good deal that we just couldn't pass it up! we left our car there at the dealers shop and rode our cycles home from cheyenne. and then we drove back later that day to pick up our car. i have to admit i did not like riding on the interstate in fact i have never been so scared in my life because of the fierce wind i was in fear of being blown off the road. fortunately ken knew of some frontage roads that we were able to take so that we only had to go a short distance on the interstate but that was enough for me. i think back east maybe it isn't so scary on interstates without the fierce wind we get here. but i think i will stick to other roads for now. anyway my new bike rides like a dream. i am glad i learned on the little 200 though as it gave me the confidence to ride this bigger bike. and now i can keep up with ken when i need to!!
