friday and saturday august 27 and 28th me, ken, karen, cindy, zach and smore and missy all went up to camp grace. the weather was sunny although chilly at times was over all real nice. since i always bring a heater, our cabin was toasty warm! i bet it was cold for the ones without a heater though. the food was delicious as usual. i enjoyed listening to the youth pastor from casper calvery baptist. since there were many young adults attending this year i felt his messages were very appropriate for this age group. one message was on "choices" and how just one choice you make can have a huge impact on your life now and and in the future for good or bad and how important it is to make good choices. he talked about how he had originally attended a seculiar college and lived in the dorms. he witnessed all the alcohol, drugs, sex etc. and decided real quick that that was not where he wanted to be! he changed colleges and started attending a christian college where he evenually met and married his wife. he talked about how important it is to raise your children in a christian home invironment. i hope the young people listened and learned and will apply what he talked on in their own lives.
karen, zach, cindy and dan upton all hiked up the mountain where they got some good pictures of the camp and themselves. smore was not happy,he couldn'tmake it up to the top and was barking at them as they climbed higher than he could go! zach slipped on some pine needles and since he was holding karens hand at the time they both went down! fortunately it wasnt serious but karen did get a long scratch on her arm. next year we would all like to hike to the cave and we need to remember to bring a flashlight this time. anyway i believe everyone had a good time this year. i was sorry amber, greg and brian were unable to make it this time but the days just didnt work out for them.

Hi mom! My scratch is getting better, and is starting to itch! I try not to scratch it, but it's sooooo hard sometimes! I can't wait to see you this weekend!
Love you, KAREN
