bike down!
well i had my first mishap on my bike. fortunately it was a small one. i had met ken after work and was trying to turn my bike around to face in the same direction as him and well i pulled the front brake a little too hard and got off balance and could not hold up the 350 some pound bike, i knew it was going to drop so i hurriedly got my leg out from under the bike and just let it drop. oh how that made me feel terrible! my new bike hitting the pavement! i should have known it was bound to happen as i have barely held it up before trying to turn around in tight places. and well i am so thankful ken was there to help me because i could never have picked it up on my own as even he had to really struggle to get it upright. the only damage i can see is the gear shift peddle is slightly bent up and i believe we can bend it back, no stratches or anything. i did hurt my leg a little in the struggle but funny how i was more worried about my bike. i put ice on my leg and it is fine now. some gasolene leaked out as the bike was laying on its side which worried me but ken says that is because it was leaking out of the carburater and not a sign of damage. i will just watch that to make sure it isn't leaking anymore. the bike manufactors were smart to add the feature of a bar that is there to protect the engine just for these kind of mishaps! i am sure that saved it from stratches and damage.
