3rd times' a charm
a couple weeks ago Ken and I bought motorcycle jackets. these jackets are heavy and have "armour" built in them to protect in case of a spill off the motorcyle. the armour is built into them along the spine down to the tailbone and also part of the shoulder and along the arms and elbows. has a zipper at the bottom back for armoured pants that can be bought seperately and zipped on. I love my jacket! it gives me a sense of security (hopefully not a false sense of security) but it also looks pretty cool. it is black with silver reflective stripes. it has a zip in liner that can be taken out. ken likes to ride without his liner. he says it is too warm with. but so far I like my liner in. I like the warmth. but now about the 3rd times' a charm thing. like I said we bought them a couple weeks ago. mine seemed to fit ok in the store, but when I got home I realized it was too tight. I was bummed out because I wanted to ride my motorcycle so bad with my new jacket! but I knew I needed to exchange it and so couldn't use it. since we bought them 1 and 1/2 hours away from where we live, I had to wait to exchange it. that next weekend we decided to drive back and exchange it. the coat I had was a ladies medium which was tight. I thought a ladies large should be just right. unfortunately they did not have a ladies large in stock, darn it! so the sales guy suggested trying on a mens medium. well that didnt fit right so he suggested the mens large. I should have known better but both the salesguy and ken said "yeah that ones good on you" so wanting a jacket and not wanting them to order in a ladies large i went with the mens large. well again, after I got home I realized this jacket was TOO BIG! DOUBLE DARN! now I felt really foolish. I debated on just keeping the too big jacket instead of looking a fool at the store and exchanging yet again. this time I didnt even cut the tags off. just put it in the closet until I decided what to do. then Amber asked me if I could spend a few days with her to watch babyanna. since I go right by this store on my way to and from Ambers I thought I would put it in the trunk just in case I got the nerve to exchange a 3rd time on my way by the store. On the way back from Ambers, I did get up the nerve to go to the store, but I did it this way: I didnt bring the coat in the store with me. I just went into the store as if to look for other things. I needed gloves so I looked at them. a sales girl came over to help so I let her and talked about gloves for awhile. I found out the salesguy that waited on me the first two exchanges was thankfully not there. this young girl was real helpful so i sheepishly explained about the coat. she said it would be ok to exchange it again because I should have the right size. so I told her I would go get it. she was so helpful. the funny thing is she found the ladies large that I needed all along! she said they had gotten a shipment in not too long ago but believed the coat was there for a couple weeks and couldnt understand why the salesguy couldnt see it. *sigh* guess you need a girl salesperson to get things right. lol anyway 3rd times' a charm and this time when I got the jacket home it fit just right!! (kinda like goldie locks and the three bears?) I got my bike out today and rode for quite awhile. it felt soooo good to be out riding. even though it was only 48* this coat is so warm it was great! I am getting like ken now in the fact that last year I put my bike away for the winter on around october 31st. I refused to ride if the weather was not 70* or better. lol but ken rode his all winter long . his cut off is if the temperature is 32* or below. its actually fun riding when its cold now that I have a super cool looking warm armoured jacket!!! :) :)
