Related to previous post about lost purse
I got some good advice in an email which I want to pass along. If I had not gotten my purse back, or if you lost your purse, would you be able to remember all you even had in your purse? would you know what numbers to call to report your cards stolen? would you even remember your credit card numbers? I know I would not. My wallet alone has credit cards, drivers license, but also other cards of importance. Again time is of the essence here too to get things reported stolen, if that ever happens. So what I have done with my wallet and Dads wallet, is to lay all our cards and other things we might need to remember on my scanner and make a copy of both sides of these cards. That way you will have all your credit card numbers, and also the numbers to call to report them stolen. Of course keep this copy of your credit cards in a safe place, locked file cabinette maybe. But someplace very safe, where no one else will have access to your information, but a place you will remember, so you can get to it if you ever need to. I remember a funny thing Karen said once several years ago. She thought she had left her purse somewhere and I said "oh, lets hurry and go find it, now!" (turns out that time, it was not lost) but she made the statement to me, "oh, there is nothing in there anyway." Ok, so we find her purse and I looked in it to see the "nothing" and I found in it: Her Drivers license, Debit card, Cell phone, Checkbook! Just to name a few things! Ha Ha! Nothing? OK But she was young then and just starting out in the world, so yeah...Sorry Karen to tell this story...but its amazing how much more worries we have when we get older isn't it?
