back update
My back has been feeling much better :) I am so glad of that. like Amber says when you have back pain, your life is pretty much on hold. I got a steriod shot in my lower back june 3rd and within 24 hours it started to feel better and has been good ever since. I got another steriod shot, in my upper back, for the pain there, on june 15th. It took a little longer for that shot to work, but gradually it has helped. and right now I am pain free! I didnt need to get the epidural shot after all. The spine doctor says if the pain returns, I can get the epidural shot any time. From what the spine doctor says, there is really nothing I can do other than get the shots for pain when needed, be careful about lifting ( which basically I try NOT to lift if I can help it) keep active with exercise, stay the same or preferably lose weight, not to do anything that feels like it is straining my back in any way, also physical therapy would be good too he said but I havent decided on that yet. I know how expensive that can get when Ken had to go through it. even with insurance it is high out of pocket expense. so basically i just need to be really careful and baby my back. I believe part of the deterioating of my back may have started with all the lifting and carrying of 4 kids over the years. So be careful my girls with your kids! If you dont have to lift, dont. if you do, try positions in lifting that dont strain your back. start being conscious of your back now. It feels so good to be able to do things again. I hadn't felt like doing much of anything while I was having so much pain.
