phosphoric acid

Although it is more commonly known for its use in the production of agricultural fertilizers, phosphoric acid is used in some everyday foods and beverages. It is a medium strength acid with a low molecular weight of 98.00. Used as a flavoring agent, it is widely used in carbonated drinks, such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi. The addition of phosphoric acid lowers the pH of carbonated drinks making them more acidic. This is a potential problem in dental care, since it has been shown that acidic solutions weaken the enamel and mineral structure of teeth. (I found this and the prevous article about pop while searching online. I hope everyone will read them closely and think about it. We all need to do everything we can to make sure our diets are healthy.)
